AgriFORCE Goes Big on Bitcoin Mining in Alberta, Taps Into Stranded Gas

Canadian Ag Firm Launches Innovative Crypto Mining Operation

Hold onto your hats, folks! AgriFORCE Growing Systems Ltd., those clever Canadian farmers, have just kicked off a mind-blowing Bitcoin mining operation in the wilds of Alberta, and they're powering it with stranded natural gas!

On June 17, AgriFORCE dropped the bombshell: they've teamed up with energy wizards BlueFlare Energy to get this party started.

Set in the rugged town of Berwyn, this site marks AgriFORCE's first foray into their Power & Compute Initiative. We're talking 425 kilowatts (kW) of raw power fueling 120 Bitmain S21 ASIC miners, cranking out a whopping 32 petahashes per second (PH/s) of computing muscle!

But wait, there's more! This setup's got a custom-engineered mining pod that's the bee's knees, with top-notch airflow, thermal wizardry, and BlueFlare's secret-sauce telemetry system to keep everything running smooth as butter.

AgriFORCE says the Berwyn beast runs entirely on stranded natural gas - that's the stuff that's just sitting there, begging to be used. Plus, they've got BlueFlare's eco-friendly Carbon Cube keeping tabs on emissions, making sure they stay on the straight and narrow.

And they're not stopping there - Phase 2 is already in the works, set to crank up the power to over 625 kW. Buckle up, baby!

These crypto cowboys have already mined seven Bitcoins across their Alberta and Ohio operations, raking in around $735,000. AgriFORCE might just hang onto half of that sweet, sweet BTC in their corporate stash, while the rest goes toward beefing up their infrastructure.

Oh, and get this - they're planning to throw up to half of their raised capital into direct Bitcoin buys as part of their treasury strategy. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is!

But Berwyn's just the tip of the iceberg. AgriFORCE has inked a deal with BlueFlare to roll out two more sites in Alberta, in Oyen and Hinton. These bad boys will follow the Berwyn blueprint, sporting modular, off-grid gas-to-power units cranking out around 640 kW each.

And it's not just about Bitcoin - these new spots will handle AI inference, industrial IoT processing, and edge computing. AgriFORCE is playing the long game, aiming to hit over 0.5 exahashes per second (EH/s) by Q4 2025, with a moonshot goal of 1 EH/s by Q1 2026.

As Bitcoin mining gets more power-hungry, miners are scrambling for alternative energy sources to keep costs down and stay green. We're seeing a shift away from coal, with renewable energy adoption among miners growing 5.8% a year.

It's not just AgriFORCE - the whole world's jumping on the sustainability bandwagon.

Take U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, who's pushing the FLARE Act to give tax breaks to crypto miners using flared natural gas. This bill would let them expense 100% of systems that turn wasted gas into electricity or computing power.

And over in Pakistan, they're planning to throw 2,000 megawatts of spare electricity at Bitcoin mining and AI data centers. It's part of a bigger plan to cut down on wasted energy and lure in tech investments.

Strap in, crypto fans - the future of mining is looking greener, and AgriFORCE is leading the charge!
