Coinbase Goes Big in Charlotte: 130+ Jobs Coming to the Banking Hub!

Coinbase is storming into Charlotte, North Carolina, with a massive hiring blitz that's set to shake up this longtime banking city. Hold onto your hats, folks!

The crypto giant is gearing up to onboard over 130 new team members, focusing on compliance and customer support. That's right, they're looking for the best of the best to join their ranks in the Queen City.

This move is just one piece of a larger puzzle. Coinbase's CEO, Brian Armstrong, has thrown down the gauntlet, aiming to bring on a whopping 1,000 new U.S. employees this year. Game on!

Crypto-friendly climate

Why Charlotte? Well, it's not just the southern charm. The political winds are blowing in favor of crypto, with none other than Donald Trump declaring himself the country's "first crypto president." Talk about a game-changer!

Now, Coinbase has been all about remote work since 2020, but they've still got offices in San Francisco and New York for those crucial in-person moments. But Charlotte? It's the new kid on the block, and Chief People Officer LJ Brock is all in. "Charlotte's got the talent, the tech, and the cost savings," Brock said. "We're not just dipping our toes in—we're diving in headfirst!"

Brock's not messing around. "We're here to shake things up and bring more economic freedom through a better financial system," they declared. And the new hires? They'll be joining a lean, mean, agile machine that's leaving traditional finance in the dust. Salaries? Think $96,000 to $117,000 for the salaried folks, and $32 to $41 an hour for the hourly crew.

The blockchain bigwigs in North Carolina are pumped. "This is a game-changer for Charlotte," said Eric Porper, co-chair of the North Carolina Blockchain Initiative. "We're not just talking fintech hub status—we're talking about building careers that matter."

So, buckle up, Charlotte. Coinbase is hiring over the next six months, and if all goes according to plan, this could just be the beginning. The future's looking bright, and it's got a Coinbase logo on it!
