GMGN's New MEV Shield: A Lifeline Against Sandwich Attacks
Co-Founder Haze Unveils Compensation Plan Amid Rising Threats
Hold onto your hats, crypto warriors! GMGN just dropped a bombshell: they're rolling out a new MEV protection feature that's set to be your shield against those dreaded sandwich attacks. And get this—if you still get hit, they've got your back with compensation for any losses!
In a fiery post, GMGN co-founder Haze didn't mince words about the surge of malicious attacks powered by Maximal Extractable Value bots swarming their platform. With the attacks coming in hot, Haze announced they're not messing around anymore—they've armored up with a brand-new MEV protection feature to keep you safe from these digital predators.
But hey, even the best armor has its chinks. Haze kept it real, admitting the system isn't foolproof. They're calling on you, the users, to sound the alarm if you're still getting sandwiched despite the new defenses. They want to hear from you, pronto!
So, if you've been hit with a sandwich attack while supposedly under GMGN's MEV protection, don't sweat it. Just grab your transaction hash and hit up the official channels for verification. If it turns out MEV was indeed in play and you got sandwiched, Haze promises they'll make it right with compensation.
"If it has been verified that MEV was enabled [during the attack] and you were sandwiched, we will compensate you," Haze declared in their no-nonsense post.
Flash back to April 2025, and the Solana (SOL)-based trading scene was a wild west of MEV attacks. AI Invest's data painted a grim picture: over 260,000 sandwich attacks in just 30 days, with a staggering 23,600 SOL pilfered from unsuspecting users.
And guess what? GMGN took a whopping 30.8% of those hits, despite being a smaller player in the Solana universe. It's clear that GMGN was the bulls-eye for these attacks, especially when you look at the attack-to-volume ratio.
But GMGN isn't the only one in the trenches. Big guns like Binance and Bitget are also throwing down the gauntlet against MEV sandwich attacks. Binance is cracking down hard, warning users that they'll get the boot if they're caught using MEV bots to game the Alpha Points system.
Over at Bitget Wallet, they're beefing up their MEV protection to stop these bots dead in their tracks. These bots are notorious for messing with liquidity pools, jacking up crypto prices, and spreading fake news to throw traders off their game.
