Law Enforcement Gets Tamper-Proof Digital Evidence via Constellation Network Launch

Constellation Network has rolled out Digital Evidence, a solution aimed at providing tamper-proof compliance for law enforcement and emergency services, leveraging six years of experience working with the U.S. Department of Defense and its Iron SPIDR project.

Digital Evidence utilizes blockchain technology to establish and secure unalterable records, ensuring data integrity for legal and compliance requirements. The solution streamlines evidence collection and reporting processes, helping law enforcement agencies and other organizations save time and resources related to compliance cases.

According to a note shared with crypto.news, the public sector spends over $3.6 billion annually on compliance-related legal defense.

Unalterable records from evidence

The system gathers data from police vehicles, fire trucks, EMS systems, and other onboard devices, creating unalterable records that can serve as court-admissible evidence.

Constellation is partnering with Panasonic to implement the solution through its TOUGHBOOK platform, widely used in public safety sectors. The company is also exploring pilot use cases in AI datasets, retail analytics with Dor Technologies, and intellectual property protection.

Aidan Clifford, Director of Market Solutions at Panasonic Toughbook, emphasized the potential benefits of the collaboration, saying, “Panasonic is excited to explore with Constellation new markets with Digital Evidence that will result in cost and workflow efficiencies for our customers with connected devices.”

Organizations employing Digital Evidence will be awarded a “Smart Checkmark” certification, confirming their data collection and auditing practices. Constellation is also developing integrations with business intelligence tools, indexing solutions, and AI platforms to broaden Digital Evidence’s capabilities, as per the company.
