Litecoin now compatible with Telegram's crypto wallet for global users, excluding U.S.

Telegram's Wallet now supports Litecoin, enabling users to buy, sell, and transfer the cryptocurrency within the app.

On March 24, 2025, the Litecoin Foundation announced that Litecoin (LTC), currently ranked as the 24th largest cryptocurrency globally with a market cap of $7.1 billion, is now accessible in Wallet in Telegram.

The addition of Litecoin to Telegram's internal wallet allows it to reach potentially 1 billion monthly active users, joining other top cryptocurrencies available in the app.

As per the announcement, non-U.S. users can now purchase and sell LTC through the non-custodial wallet. Litecoin joins Bitcoin (BTC), Toncoin (TON), Tether (USDT), and multiple gaming tokens in the wallet.

However, external transfers of Litecoin are not yet supported, meaning users cannot transfer LTC to or from the wallet at this time.

The integration of Litecoin into Telegram's wallet comes as the encrypted messaging platform gains popularity in the crypto space, thanks to the rise of tap-to-earn games and the introduction of mini-app support exclusively on the TON Blockchain.

The increased adoption may positively impact Litecoin.

"The inclusion of Litecoin in Telegram's wallet represents a significant milestone in the integration of messaging and cryptocurrency. As digital currencies continue to gain popularity, platforms like Telegram are leading the way in providing innovative solutions that cater to users' needs," the Litecoin Foundation stated.

Earlier this month, Wallet in Telegram announced plans to enable users to buy and trade hundreds of cryptocurrencies, including top crypto assets by market cap, popular meme coins, and other tokens.

Users who hold TON and USDT in their wallets will have the opportunity to earn passive rewards.

To encourage adoption and user growth, Telegram is offering free Litecoin purchases for a limited time. Users who wish to try Litecoin through the wallet app will have zero fees for the next seven days.
