Metaplanet Goes Big: Snags 2,205 More Bitcoins, Now Holds a Whopping 15,555 BTC!
Japanese Investment Giant Doubles Down on Crypto!
Holy smokes, Metaplanet just dropped a cool $237.9 million on Bitcoin, grabbing an extra 2,205 coins! That's a jaw-dropping 34.49 billion yen spent, averaging 15.64 million yen per Bitcoin, or around $107,800 each. With this latest haul, their stash now totals a mind-blowing 15,555 BTC!
This move is the biggest one-day buy-in since they started stacking sats like it's going out of style. They're funding this crypto spree with a mix of bond issuances and stock warrant exercises. Talk about playing hardball!

Just days before this massive acquisition, Metaplanet pulled in 6 billion yen from bonds they issued back in June, all thanks to some freshly exercised warrants. These guys have a strategy and they're sticking to it: raise cash, convert it straight to Bitcoin, and beef up their treasury like bosses.
The Tokyo-based powerhouse has now splashed out a staggering 225.8 billion yen, that's about $1.6 billion, on Bitcoin since kicking off this wild ride. They're averaging 14.5 million yen per BTC, and they're not slowing down. Their eyes are set on a massive goal: 30,000 BTC by year's end, 100,000 BTC by 2026, and a whopping 210,000 BTC by 2027. Buckle up, folks!
Metaplanet's now rocking the top five list of corporate Bitcoin holders, leaving giants like Tesla and Coinbase in the dust. And with their latest moves, they're hot on the heels of the number four spot.
They're just 4,000 BTC shy of Riot Platforms, which is sitting on 19,225 BTC. Keep up this pace, and Metaplanet could zoom past Riot to claim that coveted fourth position. It's a race to the top, and they're not messing around!
Oh, and get this: Metaplanet's raking it in with a 129.4% BTC Yield for Q2 and an extra 15.1% in the first week of July. They scooped up 5,237 BTC in Q2, worth around 82.5 billion yen, or about $513 million, and another 2,017 BTC in early July, valued at around 31.8 billion yen, or about $198 million. Cha-ching!
If they hit their ultimate goal of 210,000 BTC by 2027, they'll be holding a solid 1% of all the Bitcoin out there. That's some serious crypto clout right there!
