
Michael Saylor's Strategy boosts Bitcoin holdings to over 506K BTC with latest purchase of 6,911 coins

Strategy has increased its Bitcoin reserves through a $584 million acquisition, surpassing 506,000 BTC in its treasury.
Publicly traded business analytics firm Strategy (previously MicroStrategy) has added 6,911 Bitcoin (BTC) to its holdings, raising its total BTC assets to over 500,000 BTC. In an announcement on March 24, Strategy's founder Michael Saylor disclosed that the company had purchased 6,911 BTC for $584.1 million the previous week.

According to a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Strategy bought the batch at an average price of approximately $84,529 per BTC. At the time of publication, Bitcoin was trading at $87,500.
With this latest acquisition, Strategy has reached a BTC Yield of 7.7% YTD and, as of March 23, owned 506,137 BTC acquired for over $33.7 billion. Based on data from Bitcoin Treasuries, Strategy now possesses more than 2.3% of the circulating BTC supply.
The acquisition occurred shortly after Strategy revealed plans to raise more capital to finance Bitcoin purchases, despite recent market volatility and macroeconomic uncertainty.
As reported earlier by crypto.news, the company intends to raise $21 billion through its class A strike preferred stock to strengthen its investment portfolio. According to a filing with the SEC, Strategy will utilize the proceeds from the sale for general corporate operations, which may include further Bitcoin purchases.
