Shocking No-Show: President Milei and Sister Skip Crucial LIBRA Crypto Hearing

Holy smokes, folks! Argentine President Javier Milei and his sister Karina totally ghosted a critical session tied to the wild LIBRA meme coin scandal. Can you believe it?

Get this—no lawyers showed up for them either! The virtual hearing was supposed to be the kickoff before some serious civil litigation over this massive crypto mess.

According to the buzz from Argentinian newspaper Página/12, the digital meet-up, set up with a fancy mediator, only had one attorney in the house, representing defendant Manuel Terrones Godoy. And guess what? This guy's got a history with shady financial dealings!

Federal Judge Cranks Up the Heat on LIBRA Probe

Federal Judge María Servini isn't messing around—she's cranked up the investigation by demanding the Central Bank spill the beans on President Milei's financial records. And it's not just him; his sister Karina, who's the Secretary General of the Presidency, is also in the spotlight. They want all the banking dirt from 2023 onward.

This whole mess kicked off after whispers that the Mileis were tight with the folks pushing the Libra (LIBRA) cryptocurrency. The coin tanked right after the prez gave it a shout-out on social media. Court docs are saying this scam might've hit around 25 victims in Argentina and beyond, with losses clocking in at a whopping $4.5 million!

Servini's not playing around—she's already locked down assets of several big shots involved in cooking up and hyping this digital cash.

On the hit list are Mauricio Novelli, the brains behind Tech Forum Argentina, who apparently hooked up the Mileis with American developer Hayden Davis; Sergio Morales, a former bigwig at the National Securities Commission; and social media star Manuel Terrones Godoy.

And it doesn't stop there—the legal hammer's coming down on Novelli's family too, including his mom, María Alicia Rafaele, and sister, María Pía Novelli.

Check this out: security cams at a Galicia bank branch caught these women walking in with empty bags on February 17 and leaving with bags stuffed to the brim. And get this—it was just one day after President Milei's big crypto endorsement!

"At 11:03:08, the women were seen bouncing out of the branch with their handbag and backpack looking way more packed than when they rolled in," says a Federal Police report from the Money Laundering crew.

The drama started on Feb. 14 when President Milei hyped up the LIBRA launch on his socials. The coin spiked for a hot minute before crashing hard. Milei then dropped a statement saying he had no clue about the nitty-gritty of the transactions.
