Pro-Israel Hackers Torch $90M in Crypto After Blitzing Iran's Top Exchange
Gonjeshke Darande Unleashes Digital Firestorm on Nobitex
Holy crypto heist, Batman! The notorious pro-Israel hacker squad Gonjeshke Darande just pulled off a cyber coup, torching over $90 million in digital loot snatched from Iran's biggest crypto exchange, Nobitex. In a jaw-dropping move, they've turned the stolen assets into digital ashes across multiple blockchains. How? By using "vanity addresses" with no recoverable keys, making the funds as dead as a dodo.
Just days ago, these digital desperados drained Nobitex's hot wallets of a fortune in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and other tokens. They claimed this audacious act was a direct shot at Nobitex for allegedly helping the Iranian regime dodge sanctions and bankroll terror. Talk about a high-stakes heist with a political punch!
In a chilling X post, Gonjeshke Darande declared: "12 hours ago, 8 burn addresses incinerated $90M from the wallets of the regime's favorite sanctions-busting tool, Nobitex. 12 hours from now, Nobitex's source code goes public, turning their walled garden into a free-for-all. Where do you want your assets to be?"
Known as Predatory Sparrow, this hacker horde linked their cyber onslaught to the escalating military and digital showdown between Iran and Israel, especially after Israeli jets bombed Tehran's nuclear playgrounds. Blockchain sleuths at Chainalysis confirmed the pilfered funds didn't hit mixers or exchanges but went straight to addresses that screamed defiance, like "FuckIRGCTerroristsNoBiTEX." Some Bitcoin was sent to wallets with no escape route, while Ethereum took a one-way trip to the "0x...dead" burn address.
Nobitex, reeling from the digital destruction, issued a statement that read more like a battle report. They assured users that their assets are safe in cold storage, with the situation now "under control." Staff even emptied the hot wallets as a precaution. Nobitex promised no customer would lose a dime, thanks to their reserve fund and insurance pool.
In their latest communique, Nobitex said: "As part of our ongoing response to the recent security incident, we've severed all external access to our servers. The situation is now under control. If you..."
But the hackers aren't done. They're threatening to spill Nobitex's source code and internal secrets, which could spell disaster for Iran's leading crypto platform and its 11 million users. Gonjeshke Darande warned that any assets left on Nobitex could be toast if users don't pull them out ASAP.
This hack, with no financial gain in sight, sends shockwaves through the crypto world. By torching over $90 million in digital currency, Gonjeshke Darande has turned crypto infrastructure into a new front line in state-level warfare. Buckle up, crypto fans, the digital battlefield just got a lot hotter!
