Bitcoin Basher Peter Schiff Strikes Again: Silver's the New Gold, BTC's a Bust!
Schiff Shifts Spotlight to Silver, Dismisses Bitcoin as All Hype
Gold-loving Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff is at it again, throwing shade at the world's top crypto while hyping up another shiny metal. This time, it's silver he's pushing as the ultimate Bitcoin-beater.
In a fiery June 20 X post, Schiff claimed silver's got way more upside potential than Bitcoin, with way less risk of crashing. "If you're looking for a gold alternative, it's crazy to buy Bitcoin when you can scoop up silver," he blasted.
Schiff's been the gold standard of Bitcoin haters forever, always trashing the crypto as a worthless hype machine. Now, he's swapped gold for silver, but his tune's the same: Bitcoin's nothing but speculation and hot air.
As always, Schiff's Bitcoin bashing got the crypto crowd riled up, with many calling his comments stuck in the past. They pointed out that despite his years of warnings, Bitcoin's only gotten bigger and more popular, totally ignoring his shade.
"All Bitcoin will disrupt is the fortunes of those who buy it," Schiff sniped.
When a commenter clapped back, Schiff doubled down, saying people are "foolishly buying" Bitcoin instead of silver. He warned that the crypto king will end up "destroying the fortunes" of its buyers.
But despite Schiff's trash talk, Bitcoin's still crushing silver in the market share game. Right now, BTC's sitting pretty in 7th place among global assets, valued at around $2.079 trillion. Silver's lagging behind in 8th, at about $2.007 trillion.
Schiff's latest Bitcoin diss comes as the crypto's been cooling off lately, though it's holding steady through some wild geopolitical drama. At the moment, BTC's trading just over $104,700, down around 3.8% from its weekly peak above $108,000.
