SEC Puts Grayscale's Polkadot ETF on Hold: What's Next?

SEC Throws Curveball at Grayscale's Polkadot ETF Dreams!

Regulatory Rollercoaster Keeps Investors on Edge

Hang onto your hats, crypto fans! The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission just slammed the brakes on Grayscale's wild ride to launch a Polkadot spot ETF. In a nail-biting twist, the SEC dropped a bombshell filing on April 24, 2025, hitting the pause button on the fate of DOT's future in the ETF world.

With the crypto ETF proposals flooding in like never before, it's been a madhouse at the SEC ever since Gary Gensler took his final bow. And now, Grayscale's Polkadot ETF is stuck in regulatory limbo until June 11, 2025. Talk about a cliffhanger!

Grayscale's not backing down, though. They're dead set on transforming their Polkadot Trust into a full-blown ETF. But the SEC's playing hard to get, saying they need more time to chew on the proposal and all the juicy details.

Back in February, Nasdaq tossed their hat in the ring, submitting Form 19b-4 to the SEC, begging to list and trade Grayscale's Polkadot Trust shares. The SEC threw it out to the public on March 13, 2025, kicking off a wild 45-day countdown to decision day. But hold your horses—the SEC's now stretching that out to a heart-pounding 90 days!

And Grayscale's not the only one feeling the heat. The SEC's also playing hot potato with other big-name crypto ETF apps, like the Canary HBAR ETF and the Bitwise Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF. They're all sweating it out until June 10, 2025.

Canary's been on this rollercoaster since February 21, with a last-minute filing tweak on March 4. The SEC tossed their proposal into the public arena on March 13, 2025, and now it's a waiting game that's got everyone on the edge of their seats.
