Soneium Adopts Hyperlane, Enabling Cross-Chain Compatibility for Its Developer Community
Date: 2025-03-25 10:05:48 | By Theodore Vance
The Ethereum scaling solution Soneium has integrated Hyperlane, a framework for interoperability, to allow its developers to construct cross-chain decentralized applications (dApps) and token bridges.
Hyperlane has been launched on Soneium (SONY), an Ethereum (ETH) layer-2 blockchain that was established by Sony Group Corporation and Startale.

The integration with Hyperlane is crucial for Soneium's objective of providing its developers with third-party tools that simplify the creation and deployment of dApps. With Hyperlane's cross-chain interoperability, developers on Soneium will be capable of building cross-chain apps and token bridges, allowing them to connect Soneium with other blockchains and open up a wider range of possibilities for their projects.
This announcement follows another significant reveal from Soneium. As reported by crypto.news on March 12, Soneium has teamed up with LINE, Japan's biggest social network, to launch a series of mini-apps. With Hyperlane now available on Soneium, the creators of these apps will be able to utilize cross-chain interoperability to incorporate those apps with other blockchains.
Despite the announcement, Soneium's token SONY has decreased by 17% in the past 24 hours, currently trading at $0.00014, where it has been consolidating after the sharp decline from its January peak of $0.0007.
Interoperability framework Hyperlane, previously known as Abacus Network, was officially introduced in January 2022. Its main objective is to enable communication and message passing between different blockchains, allowing developers to build cross-chain apps and token bridges. It supports numerous popular blockchains including Ethereum (ETH), Arbitrum (ARB), Optimism (OP), Solana (SOL), and Cosmos (ATOM), as well as newer ones like Aleph Zero, Dogechain, and now Soneium.
In addition to enabling cross-chain dApps that make it possible to access features and services from different blockchains in one location, Hyperlane provides cross-chain liquidity solutions to facilitate asset movement across blockchain ecosystems.
