Corporate Bitcoin Fever: Strategy and Semler Scientific Ramp Up BTC Holdings!
Strategy has just gone all-in, snagging 1,895 more Bitcoins, while Semler Scientific isn't far behind, beefing up its stash to 3,634 BTC. These moves are the latest signs that companies are diving headfirst into the world of crypto!
Michael Saylor's Strategy, the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, didn't hold back last week. They splashed out a whopping $180.3 million to grab an extra 1,895 Bitcoins between April 28 and May 4. Talk about a power move!
They snagged each Bitcoin at an average price of $95,167. That's some serious cash, but Strategy isn't messing around.
To fund this epic Bitcoin buying spree, Strategy sold off 353,825 shares of its MSTR common stock and 575,392 shares of STRK preferred stock. It's all part of their master plan to keep stacking those Satoshis.
With this latest haul, Strategy has now maxed out the MSTR side of their "21/21 Plan." That's the bold initiative they kicked off to raise a mind-blowing $42 billion for Bitcoin buys. The STRK part? Still got $20.87 billion left to play with.
But Strategy isn't stopping there. Oh no, they've just launched a new "42/42 Plan" that's set to rake in another $42 billion over the next two years. They're pulling out all the stops, issuing both STRK and STRF perpetual preferred shares to keep the Bitcoin party going.
After this latest shopping spree, Strategy's Bitcoin war chest now stands at a staggering 555,450 BTC. They've shelled out $38.08 billion to get there, but with Bitcoin trading around $94,000, their holdings are now worth over $52 billion. That's an unrealized gain of about $14.2 billion, baby!
And get this - Strategy's stash accounts for over 2.6% of all the Bitcoins out there. That's some serious skin in the game.
Semler Scientific expands BTC treasury position
Semler Scientific is also jumping on the Bitcoin bandwagon, adding 167 more coins to their collection last week. They dropped $16.2 million on this latest buy, showing they mean business.
With this move, Semler's Bitcoin treasury now totals 3,634 BTC. And get this - they've already racked up a 22.2% yield on their holdings this year. That's enough to make them the fourth-largest public Bitcoin holder in the U.S. Move over, big boys - Semler's coming for you!
