Andrew Tate's $600K Crypto Crash: The Inside Story
From Boast to Bust: How Tate's Hyperliquid Hype Backfired
Hold onto your hats, folks! Andrew Tate, the internet's favorite controversial figure, just got hit with a massive $600,000 loss in his Hyperliquid wallet. And get this - he was bragging about a 138% gain in ETH long just moments before!
Here's how it went down: Tate, the ex-kickboxer turned influencer, couldn't resist showing off his supposed 138.5% gain on Hyperliquid (HYPE) and even dropped his referral code on X. Big mistake. The post vanished quicker than you can say "Top G," but it was too late. Crypto sleuths were all over it, tracking down his wallet address in no time. And what did they find? A staggering $600,000 in the red on leveraged ETH trades.
"Andrew Tate just flashed his Hyperliquid trade with a 138.5% profit to push his ref link. He must've forgotten it's a DEX, 'cause his wallet got exposed fast, revealing a $600,000 loss," one trader spilled on X after uncovering Tate's wallet.
Another user chimed in with a sarcastic farewell: "it was good while it lasted, bye hyperliquid."
But Tate? He's not sweating it. "I'll make it all back with one trade. Watch this space," he declared confidently. Yet, the crypto community isn't holding its breath.
According to Hyperdash data, Tate's currently riding a single 25x leveraged Ethereum long position. His perp equity sits at $146,267, and while his now-deleted post boasted a 138.5% rise, his gains have skyrocketed to nearly 250%.
But zoom out, and the picture changes. In the last 24 hours, Tate managed to snag a modest $16,721 profit, with an unrealized PnL of $40,091. Sounds good, right? Wrong. Pull back the curtain on all his Hyperliquid trades, and you'll see the real deal: a jaw-dropping $580,113 loss, dwarfing that recent $16,721 win.
This isn't Tate's first rodeo with crypto drama. Remember back in October 2024 when YouTube's Coffeezilla called him out for shilling meme coins like ROOST and DADDY after trashing crypto? Tate didn't take it lying down - he started doxxing Coffeezilla left and right.
