Teucrium's XRP ETF Gets SEC Nod: First Leveraged Crypto Fund in U.S.!

Boom! First-Ever Leveraged XRP ETF Hits the U.S. Market

Teucrium's 2x Long Daily XRP ETF Launches Tuesday

Hold onto your hats, crypto fans! Teucrium Investment Advisors LLC is about to shake things up with the launch of the first-ever leveraged XRP exchange-traded fund in the U.S. The Securities and Exchange Commission gave it the green light, and now it's ready to roll!

Get ready for the Teucrium 2x Long Daily XRP ETF, hitting the NYSE Arca with the ticker XXRP this Tuesday, Apr. 8. This bad boy is designed to give you twice the daily return of XRP using some slick swap agreements. If XRP jumps 1%, this ETF will soar 2%! But watch out, because if XRP takes a dive, you'll feel the pain twice as hard. The management fee? A cool 1.89%. This one's for the short-term, active traders who live and breathe XRP's daily price swings.

Teucrium's pulling out all the stops, using a mix of indices and ETPs like the CME CF XRP-Dollar Reference Rate and a basket of XRP ETPs from Europe, including those from 21Shares, Bitwise, WisdomTree, and CoinShares. These foreign products are the initial benchmarks since there's no spot XRP ETF trading in the U.S. yet.

This Vermont-based asset manager, overseeing a cool $311 million, isn't new to the crypto ETF game. They launched a Bitcoin futures ETF back in April 2022 and now they're ready to double down with a 2x Short Daily XRP ETF, giving traders a way to cash in on XRP's price drops.

Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas couldn't believe it when he saw this news. He said it's super rare for an asset's first ETF to be a leveraged product. But he's still betting on a spot XRP ETF getting approved soon, even though we don't have one yet.

This launch comes hot on the heels of Ripple Labs and the SEC settling their $50 million legal battle over XRP's classification. With the regulatory dust settled, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is feeling confident about XRP ETFs. In a recent Bloomberg interview, he predicted that spot XRP ETFs could hit the market in the second half of 2025. And guess what? A bunch of asset managers like Bitwise, Canary Capital, 21Shares, WisdomTree, CoinShares, Grayscale, and Franklin Templeton have already filed with the SEC for their own spot XRP ETFs.
