Wayfinder's PROMPT Token Crashes 68% After Exploit Halts Airdrop!
MEV Bot "Yoink" Steals 119 ETH in Front-Run Attack!
Hang onto your hats, crypto fans! Wayfinder's shiny new PROMPT token has taken a brutal nosedive, plummeting 68% from its high after the Kaito airdrop got slammed to a screeching halt. Why? A sneaky front-run exploit snatched a whopping 119 ETH right out from under users' noses during the claim process. Can you believe it?
Wayfinder (PROMPT) burst onto the scene on April 9, hitting big exchanges like OKX, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate.io, Coinbase, and even Binance Alpha. But the party was short-lived. A Maximal Extractable Value exploit hit, with a notorious MEV bot named "Yoink" pulling off a slick move, front-running the PROMPT airdrop to Kaito (KAITO) users and swiping that 119 Ethereum (ETH). Talk about a buzzkill!
This MEV bot zeroed in on the Wayfinder airdrop claim contract, exploiting weak spots and snatching funds before users could even blink. Users were quick to raise the alarm, and the TokenTable team, the masterminds behind the airdrop, hit the brakes to deal with this mess. They're not messing around—they've promised to make things right, covering all gas fees and any stolen tokens. The team's clear: the smart contract's solid, the exploit's all on the MEV bot, not their code.
The PROMPT airdrop to Kaito users was meant to be a big part of Wayfinder's token party, with 40% of the total PROMPT stash set aside for the community. That includes 39% for PRIME token stakers, 1% for free sign-ups, and a cool 5 million PROMPT tokens for Kaito AI's Social Mission program.
As part of this program:
But while the team scrambles to fix things, PROMPT's price is tanking hard, now sitting at a measly $0.18. That's a 26% drop in just the last 24 hours and a whopping 68% plunge from its all-time high of $0.59 right after launch on April 10. Ouch!
